The following are ways you can help raise the bar for the animals in San Mateo County's Care:

  • Adopt, foster or volunteer for Peninsula Humane Society (PHS). It is volunteers who get the animals out of the kennels to reduce the stress of being in the shelter

  • Encourage fellow animal lovers and advocates to review the content of this website and help spread the word

  • Email or call Mike Callagy, San Mateo County Executive Officer, sharing your concerns about PHS and your vote of no confidence in PHS continuing to run our county's shelter since they have failed to keep up with modern practices and the leadership has been unresponsive to a long and growing list of community concerns: mcallagy@smcgov.org; 650-363-4129

  • Email or call your representative County Supervisor sharing your concerns about PHS and your vote of no confidence in PHS continuing to run our county's shelter since they have failed to keep up with modern practices and the leadership has been unresponsive to a long and growing list of community concerns. A sample email can be found here

  • Write to the County inquiring why there are so few volunteers at the Coyote Point shelter, encouraging them to commit to a basic standard of care by getting every animal out of the kennel every day. Find a sample letter with applicable email addresses here (also includes a sample Facebook / social media post)

  • Follow us on Instagram and share our posts as far and wide as you can

  • Become a PACC Foster. Fostering saves lives. Fill out a foster application here:

  • Donate! No contribution is too small (or too large - LOL)! Use this Donate link

  • Contact us to discuss how your interests might intersect with where we are headed to get involved

  • Keep this effort in your heart and mind sending positive thoughts our way as we work to raise the bar for the animals in our County's care.
